The drawing reminds us of the time in which we were free to play and investigate with pleasure about the sensitive structure of the world we were beginning to discover. It was the moment when we could not understand or express in words what we felt. For this reason the drawing served us to give way to what cannot be said in words and it also helps us to enjoy a sensitive rehearsal. Maybe that's why drawing is capable of awakening a nostalgic feeling, reminiscent of childhood and our formative development.
The explanations square, the anthropological development processes are revealed, but the mystery persists. The drawing not only transmits nostalgia for our own childhood, for our own faltering discovery of the world, but also serves as a way of remembering the childhood of our species. Berger continues to place us with expertise in the environment, in the ecological environment in which our ancestors, so distant and close to us, lived and developed.
